When I entered network marketing I was clueless how to recruit, sale, close, lead a team, and everything else. The methods I were taught were what I now call "Network Non-Marketing." I discovered that the basics of the belly-to-belly approach, looking for needles in a haystacks, originated from the very beginning in the  1930s. Certainly social media made belly-to-belly easier, but it was still labor intensive. And honestly, not very duplicable as evidenced that only 1 in 20, the top 5%, really make about 80%+ of the compensation

​That always bugged me.

The high failure rate in a profession that's not that complicated nor hard.

But the vast majority that enter network marketing have avoided rejection their whole life. Yet, from the day they begin to become a distributor, are expected to accept it

When I was told multiple times, "The noes build your character and the yeses build your business." I would kind of get upset. I have RSD, rejection sensitivity dysphoria as a result of my ADHD

I would raise my hand in defiance and say, "I don't know what planet you come from, but yeses build my character and noes crush it."

I can't tell you how many times I've said that that the students I've sit with would cheer when I did that

I did that in a room of about 3000 leaders of my company once after Eric Worre told us that. The crowd went wild. Eric even said, "I'm an introvert and can relate." I then pressed him and called him out, "Why don't you teach a method that doesn't have any rejection?" The crowd clapped again

His answer, "There isn't one!"

(I personally believe Eric got out of network marketing because of rejection)

No, there is one. And it's Attraction & Digital Funnel Marketing

My Results With Rejection

After getting rejected 347 times in 349 connections over a 4 month stretch (even using Eric's  and Todd Falcone's methods I paid for), I spiraled into some serious depression. That's when I began to research "marketing" from non-network marketing people. This led me to find a method that uses real "marketing" principles and it's automated.

Active Prospecting: The act of creating a list of 100 family and friends and then getting on the phone to call them. It's also doing reach outs to strangers where ever you're at. Active means ACTIVE. You almost pursue cold or warm leads with an agenda to get them enrolled

One-on-One and One-to-Many: The physical act of either meeting, calling, or messaging some one, or many people at once like in a home party, zoom call, or meeting with more than one prospect at a time

Target / Niche Focused: Targeting a narrow niche is not taught in network non-marketing. But it is the head stone of digital marketing

Organic Reach or Paid Reach: Organic reach, the act of getting engagement, is free, for example, like gaining followers or friends on social media. Paid Reach is where you gain prospect by paid advertising.

Lead Liquidation: You get "paid" to gain a lead as opposed to paying for a lead. For example, if you spent $100 in ads and gained 10 qualified leads but also earned $100, your leads were FREE and you "liquidated" the cost

A concern many people have that only have a background in traditional  network non-marketing is the learning curve and difficulty in learning the skill sets of DIGITAL marketing. 

​With my ADHD, left brain activities, such as creating a lead page, writing emails, and creating an ad on the Facebook Ad Manager, was more time consuming than someone without "Attention Deficit". For example, this blog has taken me 3-4 hours to prepare. My old secretary when I was a CPA was amazing and would have completed this in 1/2 or less the time. 

​But what one has to understand, after I post this blog, it can be seen over and over again and in the long run be a tremendous time savings.

What I've discovered is that in the two training programs I promote, The Attraction Marketing Formula and The One Funnel Challange, there are mentors and trainers to help you.

The most important skill to learn is Copywriting. That the words used on a Opt-In Page, Video Sales Letter, or any other digital content where you want to gain engagement. I have spent the most time on learning this skill. But what has reduced the time to create effective copy is AI. Learning the prompts is easy and within seconds, AI delivers some good quality copywriting.    

What's the Number of Enrollments Per Week Potential?

While the number of enrollments might be a great metric to compare, it's not entirely possible nor fair to compare the two. Speaking from my own experience and from top leaders in my company, if a distributor can enroll at least 5 people per month and get at least 1 in 20 of them elevating to become a competent leader, would usually indicate the higher probability of earning a six figure or more annual income.

​In my own experience, It took me 9 years to earn my first million dollars and I had enrolled about 250 people (i.e., about 2-3 per month). Most of the 7-figure a year annual earners have consistently enrolled 5-10 per month over a long period of time.

​Top earners will all tell you that they can't take their foot off the gas if they want to continue to grow their team, net of natural attrition.

​I can tell you that in a special group I'm in, with over 1,500 six and seven figure a year earners using Attraction Digital Funnel Marketing, are consistently enrolling 3-7 new people per week (i.e. 12 to 28 people per month) and they all tell me they do it in 1/4 the time of their prior traditional belly-to-belly methods.

​Since starting Attraction Digital Funnel Marketing I have massively added to my list (over 7,600 now) and have 10-20 new conversations per week. Enrollments have quadrupled for me in my early stages of using the method.

What's the Most Important Considerations in Making this Important Decision?

I believe the three most important considerations are;

  • Duplication
  • Rejection
  • Efficency

Let me begin with rejection. Certainly there are many top recruiters in network non-marketing (NNM) that do not have a problem with rejection.  Also, in traditional NNM as relationships are built, and you understand with deep empathy a prospect's problems, when you present a solution through the lens of TRUST, won't get much rejection. But understand two aspects of that process; 1) it takes time, effort, compassion, and follow up to build trust, usually one-on-one, and 2) that process, if you're honest, isn't very duplicable. For example, with my ADHD and being a huge introvert, that relationship process is as hard as sticking a knife in my stomach. 

​I also believe being "Thick Skinned" and rejection resilient, is NOT DUPLICATABLE and from the many distributors that I've helped only to subsequently quit, their number one and two problems were 1) rejection and 2) takes to long.

​The profession of NNM could do themselves a big favor if they at least taught Target Marketing and Niche down and niche down some more. Before I went totally digital, has simple read a book by Dan Kennedy and began to niche on Instagram. I went from 2000 followers to close to 180K followers from doing that one aspect. Out of all the aspects of DUPLICATION, target marketing is by far the easiest and more effective for a new out of the gate distributor to gain high quality organic leads. Last time I looked, having more qualified followers on social media that are interested in our solutions is better than not having very many. 

The one-on-one skill sets are not very duplicable as evidenced by the high drop out rate in NNM. But the tangible digital marketing skill sets are highly duplicable. For example, I have an ad on Facebook that is performing Above Average and I get a click to my opt-in page at only $0.36 each. That is excellent! But I had to create 3 dogs before that. Now, though, because my ad is performing, I can either give a copy to a new distributor or they can record the same ad for themselves. It's only 62 seconds long. Then the lead liquidation capture page is performing well now too. But I had to create 7 versions that worked. With an account at ClickFunnels, I can simply share a link with a new distributor and they their funnel will be as prolific as mine. 

Technology, sprinkled with creativity, is high duplicable. Plus, on a side benefit, as my team is also perfecting their funnels, when they find something that works really well it can be shared with the team.

As a team, we can all produce a recorded Home Party Funnel that members of the them, who have not yet created a digital footprint, can simply give their prospect a link to watch. The Home Party Funnel was used by my mentor, Russel Brunson, in his only attempt at MLM, and in 30 days won a car and became the third largest leg in that company. He also used a lead capture funnel and gained 1.5 million leads for a friend's MLM in only 6 weeks. I would venture to say that a top list building leader in NNM could never have contacted 1.5 million in a career. In Russell's case, he was able to send them an email and 750,000 people would read it.

One major problem of NNM is the lack of efficiency. There are so few in the profession that achieve true time and financial freedom because of the time they have to spend in leading, training, recruiting, duplicating, and travel. With digital duplication systems in place, if you simply recorded a one-on-one training session you did with a new recruit and posted it on YouTube or in your ClickFunnel account, could be watched over and over again. If it was 1.5 hours in length, would save that leader 1.5 hours for every new distributor they would have had to train. 

Final Note

I've done both types. I did traditional NNM for 18 years. I've done Attraction & Digital Funnel Building Marketing for 5 months. It would scare you know how many new recruits I've had in 5 months compared to 18 years.

With my ADHD and RSD and being an introvert, Attraction & Digital Funnel Marketing is clearly the right choice for me. I get massive duplication. No rejection. No prospecting. And my team is growing again.
